A cosmetic tattoo can remain very long sometimes up to 10-15 years. There are different techniques to permanent makeup. If the client desires very straight, crisp eyeliner with wings, the technique has to be extremely light handed in order to achieve this kind of result. Since the pigment isn’t implanted deep, the eyeliner may have to be touched up every 1-3 years. This is not a rule as everyone’s skin and lifestyle is different.
There are also microshaded or microbladed brows which is basically etching the pigment lightly on the skin. The result is a beautiful, soft look but will not last as long as a traditional brow because the tattoo is superficial. Lighter colors tend to fade faster, so a light blonde pigment may lighten faster than dark brown.
You may need to renovate about 1-3 years, it all depends on your lifestyle, skin quality, and type of look you are trying to achieve.
It isn’t possible to predict in advance how long the pigment will last, you need to take into account many factors (especially metabolism, medications, lifestyle, skin care after the procedure, etc.). In any case, keep in mind the skin is a living organ, and everyone is different as far as retention.
